Today, we had the opportunity to pray together across our organisation. Shrewsbury WiF Advent Service was live-streamed from Shrewsbury Cathedral which meant not only those members present in the cathedral could be together, but they could be joined by any other members across the country.
Our fellowship service was treated to a thought provoking comparison of what our founder members encountered during wars and a pandemic to what we are trying to do following in their footsteps today. A key question from Father Edmund’s homily was “Isn’t Women in Fellowship simply an invisible bond of connection that makes communication possible and sustains friendship, family and community? ” and even more so now as we strive through in our current pandemic.

Father Edmund has kindly agreed to share his homily and it can be found in the following link to read: Shrewsbury WiF Advent Service Homily
Social distancing in the pews, face coverings, hand sanitizer, no singing, one way systems – these are just a few of the Covid secure procedures in place to enable services to take place.
Thank you to Shrewsbury Cathedral for sharing our WiF service today, and to the organist for reminding us about the joys of hearing live music !
